Cuban National Assembly elected the new President of the country

Havana, April 19, 2018.  The National Assembly of the People´s Power of Cuba elected H.E. Mr. Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez as the new President of the Council of State and Ministers.  The parliamentary body also elected H.E. Mr. Salvador Valdés Mesa as the new First Vice President.  The other Vice Presidents of the Council of State are:  Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, H.E. Mrs. Gladys Bejerano Portela, H.E. Roberto Morales Ojeda, H.E. Mrs. Inés María Chapman Waught and H.E. Mrs. Beatriz Johnson.

The National Asssembly of Cuba elected as its Speaker, H.E. Mr. Juan Esteban Lazo Hernández, Deputy Speaker H.E. Mrs. Ana María Mari Machado and H.E. Mrs. Miriam Brito Sarroca as Secretary.
