Hon. Dr. Isatou Touray, Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of The Gambia, expressed her gratitude for the important contribution of Cuba to the Gambian health system.
During the courtesy call that Cuban Ambassador Lázaro Herrera paid to her on the occasion of her recent appointment, the Gambian Minister highly valued the solidarity assistance provided by the Caribbean nation for more than two decades and reaffirmed the interest of her country to continue strengthening the links of friendship and cooperation with the island. In this regard, she stressed that while others came and went, Cuba had never left her country.
The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of The Gambia, also served to review the state of relations between both countries in this area, including the important work of the Cuban medical brigade that helps Gambia and reaffirm the interest and the common disposition to find new ways to continue strengthening them.
