The 18th European Solidarity Meeting of with Cuba concluded this Sunday in Bohinj, Slovenia, with the adoption of a Declaration of Support to the Cuban Revolution, signed by the representatives of 33 solidarity organizations from 24 countries.
The document was the result of the intense debates that the attending delegates held during three days, focused on three fundamental topics: the rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and the struggle for the return of the illegally occupied territory in Guantánamo; the work towards the youth sector and the confrontation with the disinformation and manipulation campaigns against Cuba. As a result, the delegates adopted an Action Plan for the next two years and decided to hold the XIX Meeting in Russia in 2020.
ICAP Vice-president Noemí Rabaza when concluding the event, thanked the participants for the unconditional support of the European Solidarity Movement with Cuba and invited them to remain active in working together for a better world.
In the framework of the Solidarity Meeting, homage was paid to the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, as the second anniversary of his physical death was commemorated and they also enjoyed a cultural activity enlivened by Cuban musicians who reside in Slovenia.
The meeting was a stimulus for the work of the solidarity movement with Cuba in Europe and a moment to outline new actions and reaffirm the commitment to support the Cuban Revolution.
