The Cuban ambassador in Turkmenistan, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, was received by the rector of the Institute of International Relations of Turkmenistan, Baba Zahyrov.
In the working meeting, the Cuban diplomat and the rector evaluated the possibilities and opportunities for collaboration between Cuba and Turkmenistan and between the diplomatic institutes of both nations.
The academic reported that the Institute of International Relations is considered the maximum "national school of diplomacy in the country." It was formally created on March 20, 2008 by decree of the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
After the meeting the diplomat made a tour of the institute and could see that it has four faculties: international relations, international law, international economic relations and international journalism.
