With the presence of the Ambassador of Cuba in Austria, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios and a large public made up of Austrian friends and the team of the Embassy of Cuba in this country, the 60th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution was celebrated at the headquarters " Habana Club ", organized by the Association of Friendship Austria-Cuba (ÖKG).
After the presentation of the documentary "Ode to the Revolution", the President of the KKG of the ÖKG, Alfred Kohlbacher, dedicated emotional words to the history of the Cuban Revolution, highlighting its impact on generations of young people throughout the world, including that of Austria. The admiration and example of the Revolution led by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, inspired them to found the ÖKG, in the early date of April 1969, so this organization is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
The General Secretary of the ÖKG, Hermann Pernestorfer reaffirmed the commitment of the Austrian friends to continue supporting the Cuban Revolution and referred to the activities that will be carried out during the year to commemorate the half century of fruitful work of the organization. He presented the new issue of the magazine Cuba Sí !, a quarterly publication of this organization, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
Ambassador Juan Antonio Fernández thanked the Board and members of the ÖKG for holding the event and their unconditional support for Cuba. He referred to the challenges facing the Revolution in the coming year, particularly the referendum on the new Constitution, ensuring that the Revolution will come out victorious and strengthened from this democratic process.
