The Ambassador of Cuba to the Republic of Austria, Her Excellency, Mrs. Loipa Sánchez Lorenzo, presented the Copies of her Credentials to His Excellency, Mr. Johannes Peterlik, Secretary General of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the European country.
In the meeting, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, both parties valued positively the state of bilateral relations, agreeing on the willingness to continue strengthening them. Topics of international political interest were also addressed.
Ambassador Sánchez Lorenzo thanked Austria for its support to Cuba in the international claim for the end of the policy of economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and in the framework of Cuba´s ties with the European Union.
The Cuban Ambassador was also received by His Excellency Mr. Enno Drofenik, Director for Protocol of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria, who offered her warmest welcome to the European country and wished her success in her Diplomatic Mission.
Cuba and Austria have maintained steady diplomatic relations for more than 73 years.
