Member of the Lebanese Parliament reaffirms its support for Cuba against the blockade

Beirut, February 20, 2020. Cuba's Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, had a cordial meeting with Osama Maarouf Saad, a member of the Lebanese parliament and Secretary General of the Nasserist People's Organization.

During the meeting, was examined the political situation in Lebanon and Cuba  and was reaffirmed the will to continue developing and strengthening bilateral parliamentary and partisan relations.

The Cuban diplomat updated the Lebanese political leader on the situation on the island, and the latest measures applied by the Trump administration to intensify the economic and financial siege, including sanctions on shipping companies that transport oil and gas to Cuba.

Saad highlighted Cuba's example for developing countries and their resistance to the hostility of US imperialism, while thanking Cuba's historical support for the Arab and Palestinian cause, and its permanent condemnation of aggressive and expansionist politics of Israel.
