Dear colleagues:
The Environment Agency of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba, jointly with other agencies and organizations, is pleased to invite researchers, authorities, educators, specialists, managers, entrepreneurs, professionals, producers and other people around the world working for the sustainability of our planet to participate in the XI International Convention on Environment and Development, to be held inJuly 3 to 7, 2017at Havana International Convention Center.
The ten previous editions of this gathering have involved over 8,000 participants; about 50% of them being visitors from more than 60 countries on the five continents.
This edition will promote cooperation among countries, exchange of experiences and sustainable practices, knowledge transfer,as well as sustained and inclusive economic growth, participatory social development, environmental protection and the dignity of human beings.
Discussions should also emphasize on the need for the new development agenda to have a universal and comprehensive character, being aware that there is no unique development model orrecipe.
The Convention will comprise several events covering topics of great relevance: XI Congress on Environmental Education towards sustainable development, X Congress on Protected Areas, VIII Congress on Environmental Management, VI Congress on Ecosystem and Biodiversity Management, V Congress on Climate Change; III Congress on Environmental Policy, Law and Justice; VI Symposium of Museums of Natural History, III Symposium on Sustainability Sciences, II Symposium on Disaster Risk and Climate Risks, V Colloquium on Land Planning, III Colloquium on Environmental Regulation and Control, III Colloquium on Transportation and Environment. In addition, as in previous years, an Exhibition on Environmental Technologies, Projects and Experiences will be presented.
The Organizing Committee of the Convention reiterates the invitation to present your professional contributions, ensuring that common goals will be achieved in an ambience of friendship and solidarity.
