Members of the Consulate General in Istanbul, headed by the Consul General, Raúl E. Madrigal Cárdenas, paid a visit today to the Consulate General of Venezuela in this city to sign the Book of Condolences in honor of the combatants who lost their lives defending the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people in the face of the attacks perpetrated by the armed forces of the United States on January 3, 2026, when the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores took place.
Renowned Turkish artist Bedri Baykam donates his work “The Commander” to the National Museum of Fine Arts in Cuba.
The acclaimed Turkish artist and thinker Bedri Baykam, one of the most prominent figures in contemporary art from Türkiye, held a meeting with the Consul General of Cuba in Istanbul Raúl E. Madrigal Cárdenas, during which he officially presented his work entitled “El Comandante” to be transferred to and incorporated into the collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts of Cuba.

On January 8, a delegation from the People's Liberation Party (HKP), led by its Secretary General, Ali Serdar Çıngı, visited the Consulate General of Cuba in Istanbul to convey their condolences to the people and government of Cuba, following the death in combat of 32 Cuban citizens during the illegal military operation carried out by the United States in Venezuela on January 3.
Cuba pays tribute to the victims of the attack against Venezuela in Türkiye
The Cuban Ambassador to Türkiye, Alejandro Díaz Palacios, signed the book of condolences opened at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in posthumous tribute to the victims of the cowardly military aggression by the United States against that sister nation, which culminated in the kidnapping of the Constitutional President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife.
