August 16, 2026. Guyana, Georgetwon. August 13, 2026, marked the 100th birthday of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro. Throughout the Caribbean, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe, people gathered in large numbers to pay tribute to Castro’s legacy. Guyana was no exception. On the evening of Saturday August 15th, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba, in partnership with the Guyana Coalition in Solidarity with Cuba, hosted a well-attended event on the Embassy grounds.

The government of the United States is carrying out against Cuba a multi-dimensional, non-conventional warfare that has already lasted for almost seven decades now and has become ever crueler and more ruthless during the last seven months.

The Revolutionary Government condemns in the strongest terms the despicable accusation by the United States Department of Justice announced on May 20 and proclaimed for several weeks against Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Guyanese Media Denounce Fuel Blockade Against Cuba

Guyana, Georgetown, May 17, 2026. News Source Guyana, Nightly News, Guyana Chronicle, Sheriff News, and Demerara Waves published statements from the Cuban ambassador to Guyana, who gave interviews to Guyanese journalists Svetlana Marshall and Antonio Dey. The ambassador denounced the brutal fuel blockade against Cuba imposed by the United States and the escalation of coercive economic measures against Cuba to the highest level.
