Prime Minister of Guyana welcomes a delegation from Cuba attending the Guyana Trade and Investment Exhibition (GuyTIE, 2018) as guests.

Georgetown, September 20, 2018. The Prime Minister of Guyana, Hon. Mr. Moses Verassammy Nagamootoo, and his wife Ms. Zita Nagamootoo, received today, at the venue of their official residence, the Director of International Relations of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, Dr. Celia Labora and the Regional Manager of Sales of the company FARMACUBA, Laura Vives, who participate in the Trade and Investment Exhibition of Guyana, (GuyTIE, 2018). There were also present the Ambassador of Cuba, Narciso R. Amador and the Counselor Ana Violeta Castañeda Marrero.

On June 8, 2017, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed a 87,255 dollar fine on the company American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC) because one of its subsidiaries in Canada -Honda Canada Finance Inc.-, approved and financed 13 vehicle leasing agreements between the Cuban Embassy in Canada and a concessionary of Honda in Ottawa between February of 2011 and March of 2014.

Cubans in Ethiopia meet to analyze the Constitution Draft

Addis Ababa, September 18, 2018.  The members of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Addis Ababa meet to discuss the Draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Cuba.

The meeting was led by H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas, Ambassador of Cuba. From the audience were received several proposals of amendments, changes and substitutions with the aim to enrich the text.

This process will continue during this week in the country.

The Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ana Teresa González, held a meeting with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Khatuna Totladze, on the occasion of the visit to that Caucasian nation.
At the meeting, the Cuban vice chancellor reiterated the will of our country to maintain the bonds between the two nations on the basis of mutual respect, cooperation and dialogue.
Likewise, the diplomats identified areas of common interest to develop bilateral relations, mainly in the economic-commercial field.

Welcome to three Ghanaian doctors recently graduated in Cuba

The staff of the Cuban Embassy in Ghana welcomed three new Ghanaian doctors (Josephine Oboshie Laryea, Yusiff Abass and Richardson Kofi Gordor), who completed their medical studies on the Caribbean island.

The Ambassador Pedro L. Despaigne González in his welcoming words congratulated them for the excellent academic results obtained during their student life, encouraging them to continue to excel in their work sphere.

Exchange with the Chancellor prior to the meeting of Barbados-Cuba heads of government.

Cuban Ambassador Francisco Fernández held a fraternal exchange with the Honorable Senator Dr. Jerome Walcott, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, prior to the first bilateral meeting to be held shortly by the president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and the Honorable Mia Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, during her attendance at the sessions of the UN General Assembly. The meeting served to confirm details of the scheduled meeting of both leaders in New York the following week, in which the priorities of the bilateral agenda will be updated, as well as other aspects related to regional integration and multilateral affairs, including historical support from Barbados to the Cuban struggle for the unconditional lifting of the blockade imposed by the USA.
