Cuba attended the celebration in Seychelles of the 80th Anniversary of Victory Day
Officials of the Cuban Embassy participated in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Fascism, organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Seychelles.
After the emotional words of the Russian Ambassador Artyom Khozhin, the participants paid tribute to the fallen with wreaths that were placed in front of the Memorial dedicated to the fallen combatants of the First and Second World War, at the Mont Flourie Cemetery in the city of Victoria.
Prominent diplomat Abelardo Moreno dies in Cuba
Havana, Apr 19 (Prensa Latina) The prominent Cuban diplomat Abelardo Moreno Fernández died in Havana at the age of 80.
At the time of his death, he was working as an advisor to Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez.
Abelardo, as his colleagues called him, began his work in the Minrex in 1961, and had an ascending and meritorious career that led him to occupy various responsibilities in the internal and external services, until he was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2000-2019).
Cuba expresses willingness to strengthen ties with Seychelles
Havana, Apr 12. The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs ratified the willingness to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation with Seychelles.
This was stated by the Foreign Ministry on the social network X, on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
Cuba and Seychelles officially established ties on April 12, 1978, which are based on friendship, solidarity and cooperation.
Cuban president addresses IX CELAC Summit in Honduras
The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, spoke this Wednesday at the IX Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), being held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
During the meeting, he recognized the commendable work of the Honduran Pro Tempore Presidency of the regional mechanism.
Cuban Ambassador to Seychelles receives directors of the James R. Mancham Research Institute for Peace and Diplomacy
Victoria, 5th March._ Cuban Ambassador to Seychelles Martha Hernandez received at the diplomatic mission headquarters Diana Benoit and Ryan Adeline, director and senior researcher respectively of the James R. Mancham Institute for Peace Research and Diplomacy, a center under the University of Seychelles.
The meeting ratified the positions of Cuba and Seychelles on peacekeeping, state sovereignty, social justice, diplomacy and multilateralism as the only ways to solve conflicts.
