Havana, Dec 10 (Prensa Latina) The blockade that the United States exercises against Cuba is the most long-lasting and largest violation of the human rights of an entire people, President Miguel Díaz-Canel wrote today.

The president thus endorsed it on Twitter on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day.

“With resistance and creativity we will overcome”, the president wrote in reference to the economic, financial and commercial siege that his country has faced for more than 60 years.

US lawmakers demand change of policy on Cuba

Washington, Dec 8 (Prensa Latina) Democratic Senators Patrick Leahy and Ron Wyden, from the United States, as well as Representative Jim McGovern, demanded that the White House change the prevailing hostile policy on Cuba.

As someone who has observed the evolution of relations between the United States and Cuba for almost 50 years, I find the situation between our two countries disconcerting, tragic and frankly exasperating, Leahy said.

Covid-19 protection reached 83 percent in Cuba

Havana, Dec 7 (Prensa Latina) Nine million 287,955 people in Cuba (83 percent) completed the anti-Covid-19 vaccination plan with three dosis of a Cuban-made vaccine, the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported on Tuesday.

By the end of the 5th of this month, 10 million 192,861 individuals had received at least one dose of the Soberana 02 vaccine, from the Finlay Institute (IFV), or Abdala, designed by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), the Minsap said on its website.
