Distinguished Cuban Diplomat Abelardo Moreno Fernández Passes Away
Havana, April 19, 2025 – Abelardo Moreno Fernández, a distinguished Cuban diplomat, passed away this morning in the capital at the age of 80.
Abelardo began his career as a specialist at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in July 1961. He pursued a remarkable and upward trajectory in Revolutionary Diplomacy, taking on various responsibilities both domestically and internationally. In 2000, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, a role he held with distinction until January 2019.

Cuban Ambassador to Singapore participated in the opening of Singapore Maritime Week
Singapore, March 24, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Lisbet Quesada, participated alongside around thirty Heads of Diplomatic Missions in the City-State in the opening of Singapore Maritime Week (SMW).
The annual event, organized by the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), is world-renowned for bringing together global maritime leaders. This year's theme, "Actions Meet Ambition," focuses on driving greater ambition in decarbonization and digitalization in the maritime sector.
