Cuban President pays tribute to Nelson Mandela

Pretoria, August 23, 2023 - Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on a visit to South Africa, paid tribute to Nelson Mandela, a dear friend of Cuba and of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, in front of Mandela´s 9-meter statue in Union Buildings.

Pretoria, August 22, 2023 - Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez arrived to South Africa this evening to participate in the XV BRICS Summit, to which Cuba was invited as Chair of the G77 and China. During his stay in South Africa, the President is expected to hold bilateral meetings with several leaders.

Cuban Embassy in South Africa pays tribute to the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz

Pretoria, August 13, 2023.- The Cuban Embassy in South Africa, together with members of the collaboration brigades working in the country, paid a heartfelt tribute to the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz, on the 97th anniversary of his birth. Dr. Juan Delgado Bustillo, was the keynote speaker that recalled Fidel's imprint in the history of Cuba and Africa.

South Africa celebrates today the National Womens Day

Pretoria, August 09, 2023.- Today South Africa celebrates National Women's Day, in homage to the 1956 Great Women's March, in which thousands of women marched to Union Buildings to protest against legislation aimed at tightening the apartheid government's control over black women's movements in urban areas.
