Relations between SASCO and Cuba are strengthened
Pretoria, April 5, 2023.- The Third Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, Bryan Betancourt, held a fraternal meeting with the deputy president of the South African Students Congress (SASCO), Julia Mtsweni. Lauren Luis, an official from the Embassy and the SASCO representative in the province of Gauteng also participated in the meeting.
Friends of Cuba Society, FOCUS, sends a congratulatory message to the Cuban people
Pretoria, March 31, 2023.- The organization Friends of the Cuban Society (FOCUS) conveyed a heartfelt message of congratulations to the people and government of Cuba for the resounding victory in the recently held general elections. The message highlights the high level of popular participation in the elections, 75.92%, an evident sign of the broad support of the people to the Revolution. In addition, FOCUS condemned the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the island and demanded its immediate lifting, as well as the withdrawal of the United States from the illegal base it maintains in Guantanamo Bay.
South Africa thanks Cuba for its support in the management of water resources
Havana, March 30, 2023.- The South African Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, David Mahlobo, thanked Cuba for its collaboration in managing water resources to guarantee the supply of water to the population of his country. During the closure of the Sixth bilateral Steering Committee on the subject, they reviewed the agreements established in this area in force until 2024.
Cuba and South Africa celebrate XVII Joint Consultative Mechanism
Pretoria, March 28, 2023.- The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Elio Rodríguez Perdomo, and the South African Vice Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Alvin Botes, chaired the XVII Meeting of Inter-Foreign Ministry Political Consultations between Cuba and South Africa on Tuesday morning.
