Sri Lankan Foreign Minister receives Cuban Ambassador

Sri Lanka, May 4, 2021.- The Cuban Ambassador, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, paid a farewell call on the occasion of her term of mission to the Honorable Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of International Relations of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, who thanked the outgoing Ambassador for her work for strengthening bilateral relations. He also thanked the government of Cuba for its continuous support provided to his country in in different field and in international forums.

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez elected as first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee

Havana, April 19, 2021. - President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez was elected today, Monday, as first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, during the first plenary meeting of the leadership body, elected by the delegates to the 8th Party Congress Sunday evening.

 

Army General Raúl Castro Ruz made this announcement after reporting the 14 members of the Political Bureau, including nine returning to the body and five added as new members:

 

Caravan in Cuba thanks solidarity actions with the island worldwide

Havana, March 28, 2021.- Cuban Minister of Foreign Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, participated on Sunday in the caravan against the U.S. economic blockade on Havana's sea front-drive, the Malecon,  and thanked the expressions of solidarity with the island received from some 50 cities around the world.

 

In statements on social media, the minister emphasized the genocidal nature of this economic, commercial, and financial siege that the U.S. government has intensified in the face of the current epidemiological situation generated by COVID-19.

 

Group "Friends of Cuba-Sri - Lanka" condemns inclusion of Cuba in the list of states sponsor of terrorism

Sri Lanka, February 24, 2021. - "Friends of Cuba - Sri Lanka", a collection of Sri Lankan intellectuals, sent a letter to the United States Ambassador in Colombo, strongly condemning the action of the State Department , to include Cuba in the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, while joining the progressive forces that demand that this action be immediately reversed.
