Ministry of Foreign Affairs Statement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba energetically rejects the announcement by a group of nations in the hemisphere, released February 13 in Lima, that constitutes unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of the Bolivarian Republic de Venezuela, and at the same time categorically rejects the decision to reconsider the participation of the Venezuelan government in the 8th Summit of the Americas, to be held this coming month of April, in Peru.

The Vice President of the Council of State, Gladys Bejerano Portela, accompanied by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelino Medina González, received this Thursday in a solemn audience the H.E. Mrs. Rommanee Kananurak, new ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand. The diplomat presented the Credentials that accredit her as Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the head of mission laid a wreath before the Monument to José Martí, in the Plaza de la Revolución.
