Cuba denounces continuity of US blockade despite Covid-19
Havana, May 5 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, said on Monday that the US blockade against Cuba continues, and so does solidarity with this Caribbean country.
On Twitter, the Foreign Minister denounced that the international demand to end Washington's economic, commercial and financial siege against Cuba is growing, as are the unilateral coercive measures against the peoples.
Rodriguez stressed that such sanctions are 'criminal, inhumane' and said their impact 'is more severe' at a time when countries are facing the Covid-19 pandemic.
ALBA-TCP strongly rejects attempted aggression against Venezuela
Caracas, May 5 (Prensa Latina) The nations member of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) strongly rejected -in an official statement- the attempted military aggression against Venezuela, Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza said today.
On his official Twitter account, Arreaza posted the text sent by the Foreign Ministry condemning such a terrorist action, organized and financed by the United States and Colombia, in order to destabilize Venezuela and assassinate the Constitutional President, Nicolas Maduro.
European left-wing party labels the US blockade of Cuba as criminal
Brussels, May 5 (Prensa Latina) The European Left-wing Party today described the US blockade against Cuba as criminal in the current Covid-19 scenario and demanded President Donald Trump to lift it immediately.
'The blockade policy is cruel under normal conditions and in the midst of this epidemic it constitutes a crime that you have the capacity to prevent. Under the false pretext of punishing the government, the human rights of an entire people are being violated. Lifting the sanctions on Cuba is a humanitarian issue,' he warned in a letter sent to the head of the White House.

I thank Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement, for calling to this meeting to exchange on the urgent and needed efforts which allow us to face COVID-19.
I avail myself of this occasion to congratulate Uganda, which shall assume the NAM Chairmanship in the year of 2022. While assuring it Cuba´s full support, we wish Uganda success in the performance of such duty.
