Cuba in Timor Leste

President and Nobel Peace Laureate, J. Ramos-Horta, presented Certificates of Recognition to 66 doctors of the Cuban Medical Brigade who are concluding their two-year mission in Timor-Leste.

The ceremony was held at Galeria Memória Viva in Bairro Farol, Dili.
The award ceremony recognized the exceptional service of these healthcare professionals who have provided specialized medical care across all municipalities of Timor-Leste since 2023. Their contributions extend beyond direct patient care to include vital training of Timorese doctors, nurses, and technicians in various health establishments and at the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL).

At the Kay Rala Xanana Conference Room was held the launch of Timor Leste as a member of the Pathfinding Global Alliance on Violence Against Children.The event was headed by the Special Representative of the UN Special Representative, Najat Maalla jointly with the Vice Prime Minister Mariano Assanami Sabino. Welcome reception to OMC delegation at Dili Convention Center

Dili, 02-11-2025. Ms Alina Aldama , cuban ambassador to Timor Leste,attended the welcoming reception offered to Mr. Xiang Cheg Zhang , OMC Deputy Director who arrived to Dili heading OMC delegation. In this ocassion Deputy Prime Minister Francisco Kabualdy Lay offered the welcoming reception held at the Convention Center in Dili.

Cuba rejects U.S. decision to incarcerate migrants in the  Guantanamo Naval Base

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Cuba rejects the decision announced by the President of the United States to use the Guantanamo Naval Base to imprison tens of thousands of migrants he has proposed to forcibly expel.  It is a demonstration of the brutality with which that government is acting to supposedly correct problems created by the economic and social conditions of that country, the government's own management and its foreign policy, including hostility towards countries of origin.
