More than five million Cubans cast their votes in elections.
Havana, Nov 28 (Prensa Latina) At 17:00 local time this Sunday, shortly before the polling stations closed, 63.85 percent of registered voters casted their votes in the municipal elections in Cuba.
The information, provided to reporters by Denys Buedo, spokesman of the National Electoral Council (CEN), means that 5,332,591 citizens went to the polls to elect the delegates to the municipal assemblies of the People’s Power, the main body of the State at local level.
Cuba elected Vice-President of the Review Conference of the Biological Weapons Convention.
Geneva, Switzerland, November 28th, 2022.- Cuba was elected Vice-President, representing the Non-Aligned Movement, of the Ninth Review Conference of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Biological and Toxin Weapons and on their Destruction. It began today in Geneva and will be in session until December 16th.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel concludes intense visit to China.
Beijing, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday concluded a brief but intense visit to China that included official talks and the signing of agreements to boost bilateral cooperation.
The president left for Istanbul, Türkiye, where he will make a technical stopover and will meet with several Turkish businesspeople before leaving for Cuba.
