Cuban companies celebrate International Dance Day virtually
Havana, 28 April 2021. More than 20 national companies are celebrating the International Dance Day in Cuba on Wednesday and Thursday.
The contest pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the artistic career of teacher and choreographer Rosario Cardenas, who won the 2013 National Dance Award for her commendable work in training generations of dancers, as well as the 15th anniversary of the Havana Dance Center.
Cuba presents new research works to fight Covid-19
Havana, 28 April 2021. Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, along with experts and scientists, reviewed the new research works to curb Covid-19 incidence and consequences in lungs.
During the meeting, the Cuban president learned that coronavirus prognosis models for the coming weeks show an unfavorable trend, mainly in Havana and Matanzas provinces.
Mathematician Raul Guinovart urged to reinforce control measures at primary health care so that the population becomes aware of the danger.
Cuba condemns coercive measures that limit access to technologies
New York, 27 April 2021. Cuban Communications Minister Mayra Arevich on Tuesday condemns at the United Nations the implementation of unilateral coercive measures that restrict the countries' access to technologies for development.
In her virtual speech at the high-level debate at the UN General Assembly on digital cooperation and connectivity, the Cuban minister also condemned how the United States blockade against Cuba is currently limiting people's access to cutting-edge technologies.
Cuba reaffirms its support for the just claims of indigenous peoples
New York, 27 April 2021. Cuba reaffirmed today its support for the just claims of indigenous peoples, and urged the international community to show greater political will to promote concrete actions that allow their effective materialization, as well as the enjoyment by these communities of all their economic, social, cultural, civil and political rights.
