Cuba denounces impact of the US blockade on food security

Havana, 10 May 2021. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez emphasized today that the US blockade is responsible for the effects on food security on the island.

Through his Twitter account, the headline mentioned that the report 'WFP Global Update on COVID-19' of the United Nations World Food Program also accuses the northern siege in this regard.

Cuba's Soberana Plus against Covid-19 is showing good results

Havana, 7 May 2021. Cuba's Soberana Plus vaccine candidate against Covid-19 is currently showing encouraging results by considerably raising antibodies in Covid-19 convalescents with only one dose.

In that sense, doctor Maria Eugenia Toledo explained that Soberana Plus places Covid-19 patients in a better situation.

Once the study with 400 convalescents has been completed, the country will be in a position to carry out an intervention study that will be more comprehensive.

US organizations ask Biden for a change in policy on Cuba

Washington, 6 May 2021. A group of US organizations representing farmers, environmentalists, academics, civil society and climate justice movements called on Washington to change its policy on Cuba, according to a report released here on Thursday.

In total, 36 organizations from those sectors sent a letter to US President Joe Biden, asking him to reverse the failed policies of his predecessor Donald Trump, as promised in his presidential campaign.
