Cuban culture continued to suffer from the onslaught of the US blockade

New York, 16 February 2021. The sector of the Cuban culture; globally renowned for its nuances, richness and quality; continued to be affected by the application of the US blockade policy against Cuba. From April 2019 to March 2020, damages amounting to USD 22,150,000 were recorded.

Cuba reiterates support for the leading role of the General Assembly

New York, 16 February 2021. Today, at the opening session of the Special Committee on the Charter, Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodríguez Abascal, Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, declared her country´s support for the strengthening of the leading role of the General Assembly as the chief regulatory, deliberative, policy-making and representative organ of the United Nations.

Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba: In support of peace in Colombia: commitment, consistency and responsibility

The Embassy of Cuba in Colombia received information -whose credibility could not be assessed- in relation to an alleged military attack by the Oriental War Front of the ELN that would take place in the course of the next few days in Bogotá.

The ELN’s Peace Delegation in Havana was immediately advised of said information.  The ELN’s Peace Delegation claimed it was completely unaware of it and provided reiterated assurances that it had absolutely no involvement in the military decisions or operations of the organization.
