Code Pink starts a new solidarity campaign with Cuba

According to the media outlet Presa Latina, the US organization Codepink is promoting a campaign with the objective that the United States government eliminate Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism. Members of CodePink explained that the initiative seeks to raise awareness within the public opinion and the US media about the consequences of being part of this list, as well as to strengthen the work of solidarity with Cuba in the United States.
 

Ambassador of Cuba to South Africa receives a visit from FOCUS directors

Pretoria, September 05, 2022.- The Ambassador of Cuba to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, received Lefika Chetty and Hope Papo, Friends of Cuba Society (FOCUS) directors from the Gauteng province, at the diplomatic mission headquarters. Bryan Betancourt Brito, official in charge of Political Affairs at the Embassy, as well as Lauren Luis Acosta, official in charge of Press and Cultural Affairs were also present.

Resolution against US blockade against Cuba presented in New York

Washington, Aug 12 

A resolution that demands an end to the United States blockade against Cuba was presented in the New York City Council at the initiative of the local solidarity movement with the Caribbean island, it was learned on Friday.

Resolution 8513, which also calls for the elimination of travel bans, was introduced on Thursday by Council Member Charles Barron, from the 42nd District, lawyer and activist Rosemari Mealy confirmed to Prensa Latina via WhatsApp.

World personalities demand Biden to end blockade on Cuba

Washington, Aug 10 (Prensa Latina) Artists, intellectuals, politicians, scientists, activists and religious leaders today sent a letter to the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to demand the end of the blockade against Cuba in the midst of the devastating fire in fuel depots.

“Sanctions feed the fire,” say the signatories of the letter, among whom are US intellectual Noam Chomsky, British politician Jeremy Corbyn, musician Roger Waters, philosopher Judith Butler, and the Afro-American Cornel West, known for his fight in favor of human rights.

In Los Angeles, a call for the end to the U.S. blockade of Cuba

Havana, Jul 18

Dozens of people participated in Los Angeles in an event of solidarity with Cuba that called for an end to the blockade imposed by successive U.S. governments on the Caribbean nation for more than 60 years.

Activist Carlos Lazo, the coordinator of the 'Bridges of Love' project, told Prensa Latina news agency that the meeting was also aimed at "raising funds for the Saving Lives initiative to take four anesthesia machines to the Carlos J. Finlay Hospital in Havana."

Cuba will overcome challenges worsened by US blockade

Pretoria, July 1st, 2022.- Like all countries, Cuba is going through a difficult economic situation influenced by the global crisis, the prices of fuel, food and transportation, in addition to the effects of more than 2 years of pandemic. The attempts to establish opinion in the media that Cuba is facing a massive humanitarian crisis are unfound. Falsehoods, fictitious legends and their propagation in the media are used to internationally generate the image of a country socially unstable and in political crisis.

CubaSi Coalition demands the lifting of the blockade against Cuba

The Cuban Chargé d´Affaires in Washington DC, Lianys Torres Rivera, highlited on Twitter that on June 26th, friends of the New York-New Jersey CubaSi Coalition gathered at the Diversity Plaza to demand the end of the Blockade against Cuba.

She added that "once again, the voice of the US people is clear asking for friendship, solidarity or engagement instead of coercive measures".
