More than 170 thousand students in Cuba will guard ballot boxes in elections
Some 175,600 students in Cuba will guard the ballot boxes in the national elections to be held this Sunday, the daily Juventud Rebelde reported today.
The president of the José Martí Pioneers Organization, Lianet Pazo, considered the participation of children in the electoral process as an expression of the present and future of the Cuban Revolution.
The top leader of the union that brings together the country's elementary and high school students, highlighted the responsibility and pride with which children are involved in this process.
Cuban President highlights plurality of nominees to Parliament.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel acknowledged today that the nominees to Parliament are an impressive integral and diverse portrait of the people.
"What we appreciate in the brief life summaries of all the candidates for deputies, is an impressive integral and diverse portrait of the people of Cuba," the president wrote on Twitter.
Cuba will have 250 special polling stations
Cuba plans to set up 250 special polling stations so that all citizens with legal capacity can exercise their right to vote in the national elections on Sunday, March 26.
The objective of these is to contribute to the success of the democratic exercise, informed the National Electoral Council (CEN), quoted by Juventud Rebelde newspaper.
According to the island's Electoral Law, these structures are opened in places of high concentration of people such as terminals, student residences, hospitals and tourist facilities.
