Vietnamese and Cuban Party officials hold talks

Senior Party officials of Vietnam and Cuba have agreed that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, regular meetings and exchanges between the two Parties and countries vividly demonstrate their special friendship.

Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee held online talks with Roberto Morales Ojeda, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee on May 26.

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee receives Cuban Ambassador

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee Phan Van Mai has promised to boost the relationship between Vietnam and Cuba at a reception on May 19 for Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen, the new Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam.

Mai and the Ambassador agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of diplomacy, youth and cultural exchange.

The historic friendship between Cuba and Vietnam was once again evidenced during a ceremony held in Hanoi on Thursday in which Cubans and Vietnamese honored their two great national heroes, Jose Marti and Ho Chi Minh.

By chance, Marti fell in combat on May 19, 1995 and on the same day, but five years earlier, the man who history would recognize as the father of the Vietnamese homeland was born.

Vietnam-Cuba relations mural unveiled in Ho Chi Minh City

A mural painting alluding to Vietnam-Cuba relations was inaugurated in southern Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, in the presence of local authorities, solidarity activists and Cuban diplomats. At the opening, Cuban Ambassador Orlando Hernandez Guillen extolled the values of the work, performed by professors and students from the University of Fine Arts of the largest Vietnamese city on the wall of the Consulate General of Cuba there.

Cuba awards Friendship Medal to former Vietnamese Minister of Construction

By decision of Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel, former Vietnamese Minister of Construction, Pham Hong Ha, on Thursday received the Friendship Medal from Cuban Ambassador here, Orlando Hernandez Guillen. The diplomat highlighted Hong Ha’s contributions to the friendship and the deepening of cooperation between both countries when he served as co-chair of the binational Intergovernmental Commission from 2016 to 2021.

Cuba's victory at Playa Giron remembered in Vietnam

Friends of Cuba in Vietnam celebrated in Hanoi the 61st anniversary of the Bay of Pigs victory in a ceremony where several books on the realities and friendship between the two countries were also presented.

Vo Hai Ha, president of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association (AAVC), highlighted the significance of that deed, which he described as the first great defeat of U.S. imperialism in the Western Hemisphere and the basis on which the Revolution would conceive its doctrine of "war of the whole people".

Vietnamese, Cuban ministries target stronger cooperation

Minister of Public Security General To Lam has suggested that his ministry and the Cuban Ministry of the Interior should continue their mutual support in the areas of their strength.

At a reception for Pedro Soca Pascual, representative of the Cuban Ministry of the Interior in Hanoi on April 8, Lam said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the two sides have effectively carried out cooperation activities both online and in person.
