Vietnam votes for UN resolution calling for ending US embargo against Cuba

Vietnam on June 23 voted in favour of a United Nations (UN) resolution calling for an end to the decades-long economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the US against Cuba, and urged the US to reverse the current Cuba policies for the interest of both peoples and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world over.

The resolution was adopted by the UN General Assembly at a meeting the same day with 184 votes in favour, 2 against, and 3  abstentions.

The Embassy of Cuba in Hanoi is pleased to inform the Vietnamese authorities and institutions, the Cuban state and government representations in Vietnam and Cubans working and living in this country, that His Excellency Mr. Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén, appointed  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, arrived in Hanoi on April 23.

General secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, sent a message of congratulations to the first secretary of the Communist Party and president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, for his election as the top party leader of the Caribbean country and also for the success of the VIII National Congress of the political force.

Cuba participates in VietnamExpo 2021 international trade fair

Cuba participates in the XXX International Trade Fair of Vietnam (VietnamExpo 2021), which takes place in Hanoi from April 14 to 17, with the participation of representatives from some countries.

On this occasion, the Caribbean country is represented at the fair by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy and by companies from the construction, medical services and agribusiness sectors.
