Cuba remains by Vietnam's side under all circumstances: Deputy Head of Mission

In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Paris Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam (Paris Peace Accords), reached on January 27, 1973, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Cuban Embassy Joy Puentes has affirmed his country’s support for Vietnam under all circumstances, particularly the past Paris Agreement negotiations. He said Cuba always stood by Vietnam's side during the anti-US resistance war and the struggle for national liberation.

Vietnamese leaders congratulate Cuba on National Day

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on January 1 extended their congratulations to First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez on Cuba’s 64th National Day (January 1, 1959 - 2023).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh cabled a message of congratulations to his Cuban counterpart Manuel Marrero Cruz; and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sent his greetings to President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernández.

Vietnam, meaningful place to host World Peace Council: President of ICAP

On the occasion attending the 22nd Congress of the World Peace Council in Vietnam, Fernando Gonzalez Llort, a Member of the Cuban National Assembly, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, and President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), had a meeting with Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) on November 19, 2022.

This is Vietnam’s first time to host the World Peace Council, VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga told at the reception of Comrade Fernando Gonzalez Llort and the Cuban delegation.

HCM City looks to expand cooperation with Cuba

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan and visiting President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP) Fernando González Llort agreed to increase people-to-people exchange and diplomacy during their meeting on November 14. Hoan highlighted the fruitful development of the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and between HCM City and Cuba in particular, especially after the exchange of high-level delegations.

NA Chairman receives senior Cuban legislator in Hà Nội

National Assembly Chairman Vương Đình Huệ on Tuesday hosted a reception for Homero Acosta Álvarez, Secretary of the National Assembly of People’s Power and the Council of State of Cuba, who is on a working visit to Việt Nam.

Huệ appreciated the results of talks between Álvarez and Bùi Văn Cường, general secretary and chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, that were held earlier the same day focusing on promoting cooperation between the two NA offices.

Cuban parliamentary delegation arrives in Vietnam

A delegation of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament), headed by its secretary, Homero Acosta, arrived today in Vietnam for a five-day working visit.

The Cuban parliamentarians will hold official talks Tuesday with the secretary general and head of the Office of the Vietnamese legislative body, Bui Van, and a courtesy interview with leaders of the National Assembly of that Asian nation.

Director General of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Vu Viet Trang on October 30 had a working session in Hanoi with President of Cuban news agency Prensa Latina (PL) Luis Enrique Gonzalez Acosta.

Welcoming the PL leader, Trang briefed the guest on the situation of the VNA and its development orientations towards a multimedia news agency playing the key role in the Vietnam’s press system.

Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee receives Cuba’s First Deputy Foreign Minister

Nguyen Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, has suggested the Cuban Party and State to further push for cooperation and delegation exchange with the Vietnamese city in areas of mutual interest, including youth exchange, healthcare, biology and education. He made the statement while hosting a reception for Gerardo Peñalver Portal, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba on August 31.
