The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement, issued on June 1 in New York, a Statement of energetic condemnation of the terrorist attack against the Embassy of Cuba in the United States, which occurred on April 30, 2020.
The NAM Coordinating Bureau rejects the politicization of the fight against terrorism, which is detrimental to international efforts towards this end, including through the unilateral preparation of lists accusing States, and in consequence, rejects the unfounded accusation that Cuba does not cooperate in the struggle against terrorism.
The Movement of Non-Aligned Countries, recalling the obligation of States to take all appropriate measures to protect the offices of an accredited diplomatic mission in their territory, in accordance with the provisions of the 1961 Convention on Diplomatic Relations, urged the Government of the States United to take all necessary measures to guarantee the safety and protection of the Cuban Embassy in Washington and of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations, of the staff who work in both missions and of the relatives accompanying them.
