The Cuban ambassador, Alina Aldama, attended the reception marking Germany’s National Day

Dili on October 26, 2026. The event took place at the Palm Springs Hotel and was presided over by the German ambassador, Ralf Beste, who was accompanied by a delegation that was visiting the country. This was the first reception organized by Germany in Timor-Leste.

During the ceremony, the remarks by the President of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, focused on continuing the migration and labor agreements regarding the deployment of Timorese workers to Germany, which were established during the Timorese president’s state visit to Berlin.

Cuba was represented by its ambassador, Alina Aldama, and by official José Heredia.
