Cuban Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda gives interview to Radio Observer FM

 

The Cuban ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, Sergio Martínez González, participated in the radio program “Interviews with the People ” hosted by Sharon Simon on Radio Observer FM 91.1. During the interview he addressed various topics like the Executive order signed by President Trump on January 29 when designating Cuba as a serious threat to US national security and declared a complete oil blocked, and how the US Government has continued escalating its aggressive policy against Cuba with new measures of economic strangulation and even with the threat of a military aggression.

The lies used by the US Government to justify this criminal policy.

The Cuban diplomat referred to the impact on the Cuban people of the intensification of the economic strangulation war by the US, pointing out concrete examples of how these measures have affected the economy and basic services of the entire population, including sectors as sensitive as public health.

On the other hand, he mentioned the global reaction of most people worldwide and international institutions in solidarity with Cuba and denounced these genocidal policies of the U.S. government. He cited the recent example of how the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights described the energy blockade and other measures adopted by the current Trump Administration as violations of international human rights principles and laws.

The Cuban ambassador also referred to the current situation of the bilateral relations between Cuba and Antigua and Barbuda, which he described as positive and based on mutual respect. He also provided an update on the Antigua & Barbuda Students that are presently in Cuba.
