Cuba’s Friendship Association vehemently opposes decades long unlawful blockade of Cuba. It was undertaken by the US government in order to impose regime change on Cuba and overthrow achievements of the Cuban Revolution

Varsovia, 24 de octubre de 2025.

Recent policy of Donald Trump’s administration, presented by Marco Rubio – the US Secretary of State, is based on an unacceptable and imperialist policy of interfering with the internal policy of sovereign countries. The United States attempts to intimidate not only the Cuban people, but also other states such as Grenada or Brazil to discourage them from using help provided by the Cuban Medical Brigades. Threat of imposing sanctions is an element of this policy.

Unlawful blockade has been strengthened during the last year. From March 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025, the material damages and losses increased by 49 per cent as compared to the previous period.

The US continuously ignores resolutions of the UN General Assembly demanding lifting of the blockade, and thus violates international law. It also uses the so-called “war on terror” to attack Cuba by including it on the list of “states that allegedly sponsor terrorism”. This list, unjustly labels Cuba as an ally of the terrorist, which has grave financial and trade consequences for the island nation.

We would like to stress that the blockade threatens the rights of the Cuban people and their access to basic commodities. Artificially created shortages of goods and services may be used by the US as a pretext to launch another campaign of social destabilization aimed at overthrowing the socialist authorities and installing a US puppet government.

We are certain that the Cuban people, who witnessed social progress achieved due to revolution and implementation of the socialist principles, will resist these plans.

Cuba’s Friendship Association sends its warmest greetings to the Cuban People and demands lifting of the US blockade!

Long Live Cuba!

Hasta la Victoria siempre!
