En el día de ayer nuestra Embajada en Washington se dirigió al Departamento de Estado, con motivo de lo que publicaron. Puedo asegurar que, hasta ahora, Estados Unidos no ha concretado ningún ofrecimiento ni ha respondido a las interrogantes que se formularon sobre el anuncio hecho por el Secretario de Estado. Otros países, organismos de las Naciones Unidas, sí hicieron ofrecimientos y ya los han concretado o están en vías de concreción.
En ningún caso el gobierno de Cuba ha puesto condiciones extraordinarias. En años recientes, ante situaciones de desastre, Estados Unidos ha hecho ofrecimientos de manera respetuosa para Cuba y los cubanos, los cuales se han materializado. En lo que respecta a las personas y a las organizaciones de Estados Unidos que estén dispuestas e interesadas en ofrecer ayuda, en general, a los damnificados o a sus familiares, o a personas y grupos específicos, existen varias vías para hacerlo y esas vías están funcionando, esas vías funcionan.
Naturalmente tienen que vencer restricciones que les impone el gobierno de Estados Unidos.

Statements to the press by Johana Tablada, Deputy Director General for the United States Directorate General
Yesterday, our Embassy in Washington contacted the State Department regarding what they published. I can assure you that, to date, the United States has not made any specific offers nor responded to the questions raised about the announcement made by the Secretary of State. Other countries and United Nations agencies did make offers, which they have either already fulfilled or are in the process of fulfilling.
In no case has the Cuban government imposed extraordinary conditions. In recent years, in the face of disaster situations, the United States has made respectful offers to Cuba and Cubans, which have materialized. With regard to individuals and organizations in the United States that are willing and interested in offering assistance, in general, to victims or their families, or to specific individuals and groups, there are several ways to do so, and those channels are working; they are functioning.
Naturally, they have to overcome restrictions imposed by the U.S. government.
