President of the Chamber of Commerce receives the Head of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission

Freetown, September 20, 2024. Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba, Ambassador Norma Sánchez Águila, was received by the President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Adonis A.M. Abboud.

In a cordial meeting, both parties highlighted the ties of solidarity that unite both nations and ratified the willingness to work together to promote bilateral relations in the political, economic,  commercial and cooperation fields in the training and development of human capital.

The Cuban diplomat thanked the Honorable Dr. Adonis A.M. for his warm welcome, reiterating his gratitude for the solidarity of the Sierra Leonean people with the Cuban people in their fight against the unjust and cruel economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for more than 60 years.

Head of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission referred to the current situation in Cuba due to the tightening of the blockade and the unilateral measures of the United States government towards the island, including the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries that supposedly sponsor terrorism. He conveyed the feelings of the Cuban people and the struggle they were waging in order to maintain their sovereignty and independence.
