Havana, Feb 26 (Prensa Latina) Sierra Leone and Cuba are committed to strengthening their sporting ties with the signing today of a cooperation agreement to boost participation in events, the exchange of knowledge and other projects.
The African nation's sports minister, Augusta James-Teima, and the president of that sector in the Caribbean nation (Inder), Osvaldo Vento, signed the document, the weekly Jit reported in its digital edition.
The text, signed during the celebration of the II International Sports Fair of Cuba, promotes the exchange of knowledge, advice, the organization of training bases and participation in competitive events, among other aspects.
"I'm taking good things back to my country. You are an example to follow in sport," said James-Teima, who expressed his gratitude and admiration for the Cuban people and sport.
For his part, Momodu Alpha, advisor to the minister, highlighted Cuba's relevance in the world of sports and shared his experiences and knowledge acquired at the former International School of Physical Education and Sports in the Caribbean nation, where he studied.
He also reiterated Sierra Leone's interest in receiving the help of Cuban specialists in various areas for its sporting development.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the director of training and development of Inder, Yohselyn Ramiro Ruiz.
