Sierra Leone's Minister of Sport begins visit to Cuba

Havana, Feb 24 (JIT).-  Sierra Leone's Minister of Sport, Ms. Augusta James-Teima, is in Cuba to cover a work program that will include the 2nd International Sports Fair, scheduled to run until the 27th here in Havana.

The visitor and the accompanying delegation were received at the José Martí International Airport by the Vice President of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder), Omar Venegas Echemendía, who conveyed greetings to them on behalf of the Cuban sports movement and people.

James-Teima is in compliance with an invitation from the president of Inder, Osvaldo Vento Montiller, and in addition to attending the event held at the Coliseum in Havana's Ciudad Deportiva, he will also hold meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The minister said that she sees this as an opportunity to learn from her Cuban counterparts and share experiences that will help create a solid foundation for sports development in her country.

Along these lines, during his stay, until the 28th of this month, he will sign an important cooperation agreement with the Inder in order to strengthen the development and promotion of sport in the African nation, and to carry out actions to improve the infrastructure of the sector.
