La Jefa de la misión diplomática sudafricana en Níger, Anna-Maria Jojozi, realizó una visita de cortesía a la embajada de Cuba en Níger.
En la animada plática con el embajador Cala Sagué, se evocó al Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro y al presidente Nelson Mandela, su amistad y empatía que se ha traducido en la inquebrantable amistad entre los pueblos cubano y sudafricano, forjada a lo largo de los años y al fragor de las luchas por la independencia africana y contra el apartheid, la cooperación bilateral y la solidaridad.
El embajador cubano informó a la hermana visitante sobre los esfuerzos de Cuba por contrarrestar los efectos del Bloqueo impuesto por el gobierno norteamericano, próximo a discutirse en Naciones Unidas el informe sobre la necesidad de su levantamiento, y agradeció el apoyo permanente de Sudáfrica, en especial la referencia al mismo en el discurso del presidente Ramaphosa en la AGNU80.

During the lively conversation with Ambassador Cala Sagué, the two recalled Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and President Nelson Mandela, their friendship and empathy, which has resulted in the unbreakable friendship between the Cuban and South African peoples, forged over the years and in the heat of the struggles for African independence and against apartheid, bilateral cooperation, and solidarity.
The Cuban ambassador informed the visiting sister about Cuba's efforts to counter the effects of the blockade imposed by the US government. The report on the need to lift it is about to be discussed at the United Nations. He expressed his gratitude for South Africa's continued support, especially the reference to it in President Ramaphosa's speech at the 80th UNGA.
