Cuban Ambassador unveils 2026 scholarship recipients in Sierra Leone

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Sierra Leone, Norma Sánchez Águila, has officially unveiled three Sierra Leonean students selected to pursue medical studies in Cuba under a scholarship programme.

The beneficiaries, Isha Sesay, Janice M. Josephine Brimah, and Nandama Ramneh Thuray, are expected to depart Sierra Leone shortly to begin a seven-year medical training programme in Cuba.

Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce pays courtesy visit to the Head of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission

Freetown, September 10, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Norma Sánchez Águila, received a courtesy visit from the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Ms. Edleen Elba.

At the Cuban Embassy, both parties held a cordial meeting, in which they highlighted the bonds of solidarity that unite both nations and reaffirmed their willingness to work together to promote bilateral relations in the economic and commercial spheres.

Freetown, September 27, 2024. Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba, Ambassador Norma Sánchez Águila, was received by the Acting Minister, Dr. Charles Senessie, Deputy Minister 1 of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

In a cordial meeting, both parties highlighted the ties of solidarity that unite both nations and ratified the willingness to work together to promote relations in the sphere of public health and cooperation in the training and development of human capital in that sector.
