Un contenedor de 40 pies con insumos médicos gastables, equipamiento y mobiliario clínico básico fue enviado a Cuba tras las afectaciones provocadas por el huracán Melissa, que dañó infraestructuras y limitó la capacidad operativa de varios hospitales en el oriente del país.
La operación fue coordinada por la Embajada de Cuba en Bélgica, con la participación del donante belga Adriano Fernández, el grupo de solidaridad Cubanismo, la organización Hospital Sans Frontière y las empresas Nirint Shipping y BDC Internacional S. A.
El cargamento está destinado a instituciones de salud de las provincias de Granma, Santiago de Cuba y Holguín, donde se reportaron daños en servicios y carencias de materiales básicos tras el paso del fenómeno meteorológico. Los insumos enviados incluyen equipos médicos esenciales y mobiliario para reponer capacidades afectadas y sostener la atención a la población.
El envío forma parte de las acciones de apoyo canalizadas desde Bélgica para contribuir a la recuperación del sistema sanitario en los territorios más impactados por el huracán. La Embajada de Cuba en Bélgica agradece profundamente estos gestos de solidaridad, que reafirman el compromiso y la sensibilidad de quienes acompañan al país en los momentos más difíciles.

A 40-foot container with expendable medical supplies, equipment, and basic clinical furniture was sent to Cuba following the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa, which damaged infrastructure and limited the operational capacity of several hospitals in the eastern part of the country.
The operation was coordinated by the Cuban Embassy in Belgium, with the participation of Belgian donor Adriano Fernández, the Cubanismo solidarity group, the Hospital Sans Frontière organization, and the companies Nirint Shipping and BDC Internacional S.A.
The shipment is destined for health institutions in the provinces of Granma, Santiago de Cuba, and Holguín, where damage to services and shortages of basic materials were reported after the passage of the meteorological phenomenon. The supplies sent include essential medical equipment and furniture to restore affected capacities and sustain care for the population.
The shipment is part of the support actions channeled from Belgium to contribute to the recovery of the health system in the territories most affected by the hurricane. The Cuban Embassy in Belgium deeply appreciates these gestures of solidarity, which reaffirm the commitment and sensitivity of those who accompany the country in its most difficult moments.
