The Hague, July 1, 2026. Cuba’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, Eva Yelina Silva Walker, attended as a guest of honor at the ceremony commemorating the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, held at the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands.
The occasion provided an opportunity to recognize China’s achievements, under the leadership of the Communist Party, in the areas of sustainable and high-quality development, based on the defense of national sovereignty and independence. It was emphasized that the Chinese model of modernization serves as an inspiration, especially for developing countries to explore their own paths to development.
In her remarks, the Cuban ambassador also highlighted China’s contributions on the international stage, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the “Community with a Shared Future for Mankind,” and important initiatives in the areas of global development, security, civilization, and governance, which offer enormous opportunities to developing countries, particularly those in the Global South.
During the event, the special friendship between China and Cuba and their respective Communist parties was highlighted, against the backdrop of a complex international landscape marked by the U.S. government’s aggressive foreign policy. Gratitude was expressed for the firm and unwavering support of the Communist Party of China in opposing the U.S. blockade and its aggressive escalation in recent months.
