Havana, May 16, 2022. Today, the government of the United States announced several measures, which are positive but of a very limited scope, regarding Cuba associated to the granting of visas, regular migration, flights to Cuban provinces, remittances and adjustments to the regulations governing transactions with the non-state sector.
Statement by the Revolutionary Government
The U.S. determination to continue NATO’s progressive expansion towards the Russian Federation borders has brought about a scenario with implications of unpredictable scope, which could have been avoided.
United States’ and NATO’s military moves towards regions adjacent to the Russian Federation in recent months, preceded by the delivery of modern weapons to Ukraine, which together conform a military siege, are well known.
The International Relations Committee of the National People’s Power Assembly of the Republic of Cuba wishes to thank all parliaments, parliamentary groups, organizations, entities and persons from all corners of the world who have raised their voice in the last months in favor of the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, and expresses its appreciation for the annual support of practically all governments in the world to the claim of the United Nations General Assembly for putting an end to this cruel and illegitimate policy.
The Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Egypt, Jorge Mazón Rodríguez, took part in the "First International Conference: Dialogue and Exchange: an interdisciplinary conference in the humanities", whose inauguration took place at Badr University in Cairo.
The Cuban diplomat made a lecture on Cuban history and culture, regarding the celebrations that take place on the occasion of the Day of the Cuban culture.
