Acting Foreign Minister of Liberia receives Cuban Chargé d'Affaires.

Monrovia, February 6, 2020 - On the morning of Thursday, February 6, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Hon. Henry B. Fahnbullen received at the headquarters of the Liberian Foreign Ministry the Cuban Chargé d'Affaires Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera. Accompanying the acting Foreign Minister was Mr. Maxwell P. Vah, Advisor to the Foreign Minister for American Affairs.

During the meeting, the high Liberian official thanked the Cuban diplomat for her presence and highlighted the support given by the Major of the Antilles to the Liberian people during the scourge of the Ebola epidemic, highlighting the exemplary dedication of the Cuban doctors. He emphasized the importance of broadening and deepening cooperation alternatives that could be beneficial to both countries.

For her part, the Cuban Head of Mission reiterated the Cuban government's commitment and willingness to continue strengthening ties with African countries and diversifying areas of bilateral collaboration. She also thanked the government of Liberia for its support in the struggle of the Cuban people for the lifting of the blockade imposed by the United States, stressing that this continues to be the main obstacle to the normal development of the Cuban economy.
