Ottawa, March 4, 2026 - The Ambassador of Cuba to Canada, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, held a meeting with Ms. Bea Bruske, President of the Canadian Labour Congress.
During the meeting, they discussed the effects of the U.S. blockade against Cuba, particularly regarding the new executive order from the U.S. administration that escalates the collective punishment to which the U.S. has subjected the Cuban people.

Ms. Bruske reported that the labour movement, not only in Canada but around the world, stands in solidarity with Cuba and recognizes that the measures taken by the U.S. government are a violation of international law.
Also present at the meeting were Ms. Tara Peel, Executive Director and Advisor to the President; and the Deputy Head of the Cuban Mission, Dany Tur de la Concepción.
