Addis Ababa, February 13, 2026.- Dr. Kisembo Ronex Tendo, Ugandan founder and CEO of the Afrika Mashariki Fest group, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Cuba in Addis Ababa, in the context of his participation in the 39th African Union Summit.
During the meeting, he held talks with the Cuban Ambassador to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández, and the Ambassador to Ethiopia, Meylin Suárez. In his remarks, Dr. Kisembo highlighted his previous visits to the island and expressed his deep concern about the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed against Cuba, which he noted continues to directly impact the daily lives of the Cuban people, limiting access to essential resources, medical supplies, and development opportunities.
He also condemned what he called a new imperialist offensive aimed at intensifying pressure and isolation against the Caribbean nation in a complex international context. He emphasized that such measures not only affect Cuba but also send a negative message to the peoples of the Global South who defend their sovereignty and their right to choose their own development model.
Dr. Kisembo reiterated his solidarity with the Cuban people and government and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening South-South cooperation and regional integration.
