Cuba strengthens ties with social and religious actors in Africa

Addis Ababa, May 3, 2025.- The ambassadors of Cuba to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández, and to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Meylin Suárez, received this Saturday in a cordial and friendly meeting Mr. Ambrose R. King, representative of the Ethiopian Incorporated World Federation (EWF), and Ambassador Mussie Hailu, Regional Director of United Religions for Africa.

During the meeting, topics of common interest linked to the role of social and religious actors in promoting peace, sustainable development and African unity were addressed.

The African representatives praised Cuba's legacy of solidarity with the continent, while the Cuban ambassadors stressed the importance of strengthening ties with organizations that promote interreligious harmony, social justice and the well-being of African peoples.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared will to explore new areas of cooperation in the cultural, spiritual and community spheres, as part of efforts to strengthen mutual understanding and solidarity between Cuba and Africa.
