Cuban Ambassador presents Letters of Credential to the Honorable President of India

New Delhi, December 13th, 2021.- New Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to India, Alejandro Simancas Marin, presented his Credentials to the Honorable President of the Republic of India, His Excellency Ram Nath Kovind. During the solemn ceremony held in the Presidential Palace, President Ram Nath Kovind highlighted the historical relations of friendship between both countries and conveyed the will to continue developing relations both in the bilateral order, and in the multilateral sphere, where both countries have maintained a positive cooperation. He highlighted the support for the strengthening of economic and trade relations between the two countries in areas such as renewable energy and the biopharmaceutical industry. He also recalled his historic visit to Cuba in 2018 to Havana and extended a cordial greeting to President Miguel Diaz Canel. Cuban Ambassador transmitted to the President the message of friendship from the Government and the Cuban people, and especially from the President of the Republic of Cuba, and ratified his decision to continue strengthening bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest. He recalled with gratitude the visit to Cuba by President Ram Nath Kovind and his generous gesture of paying tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro. Finally, he thanked the Government and the Indian people for their position of solidarity in the demand to lift the United States blockade against Cuba.
