Cuban Consulate General Participated in Annual Event of the Association of the Consular Corps Accredited in Toronto

Members of the Consulate General of Cuba participated in the annual event of the Association of the Consular Corps Accredited in Toronto (CCAT) held on the evening of October 18th.

During the event, new consuls general were welcomed to the organization, which brings together the second largest consular representation in the world. In addition, Canadian authorities and leaders of the Association spoke to highlight the importance that Canada attaches to working with the consular corps and the communities they represent, and several cultural expressions representing diverse regions were enjoyed.

Among the Canadian authorities in attendance, the Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta, had the opportunity to exchange with Ahmed Hussen, Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development (FAAE) of the House of Commons of Canada, with Verónica Panton, Chief of Protocol and Director of International Relations of the Province of Ontario and her team, and with Aretha Phillip, Chief of Protocol and Foreign Affairs of Toronto and her team. He was also able to converse with the new Consul General of the Dominican Republic about the strong historical ties that unite us and the affection between our peoples.

The Caribbean consular corps accredited in Toronto participated in its entirety, and in the different exchanges, they reaffirmed their love and solidarity with the people and government of Cuba. This sentiment was also shared with the Consul General of Cuba by a significant number of Canadian businesspeople and community leaders.
