Addis Ababa, August 29, 2025.- The Embassy of Cuba in Ethiopia hosted a meeting with the leadership of the Ethiopia–Cuba Friendship Association, during which the deep ties of friendship and solidarity with the Island were reaffirmed.
During the meeting, Ambassador Meylin Suárez provided an update on Cuba’s political, economic, and social situation, as well as the devastating impacts of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, which she described as the main obstacle to the country’s development.
In this context, it was highlighted that Cuba and Ethiopia are celebrating this year the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, characterized by brotherhood, cooperation and mutual support in crucial moments of both countries’ histories.
The members of the Association expressed their unconditional support for the Cuban Revolution and their firm commitment to continue strengthening solidarity actions with the Island.
