Addis Ababa, August 28, 2025.- In an emotional message broadcast by Ahadu Radio, the Cuban ambassadors accredited in Ethiopia, Meylin Suárez Álvarez (Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia) and Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo (Ambassador to the African Union), extended warm greetings of congratulations to the Ethiopian people and Government on the occasion of the celebration of the Ethiopian New Year 2018, to be held on September 11.

Cuba and the African Union strengthen ties in the framework of the debate on reparations and Afro-descendants

Addis Ababa, February 11, 2025.- Cuba's ambassador to the African Union, Lucas D. Hernández, recently visited the headquarters of the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) and held meetings with Dr. Gorden Simango, director of the African Union Office and Advocacy, and Justice Oman,  executive of Programme, Research, Governance and Human Rights. During the meeting, the issue of reparations and Afro-descendants, selected by the African Union as the central axis for the year 2025 under the slogan "Justice for Africans and Afro-descendants through reparations", was addressed.
