Monrovia, June 27, 2022 - Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera received at the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia the visit of the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia, Honorable Henry Fahnbulleh, who was accompanied by the Assistant Minister for American Affairs of the Liberian Foreign Ministry, Honorable Maxwell P. Vah, with whom she held a fruitful exchange.
During the meeting, diplomat Martínez Herrera referred extensively to the current situation in Cuba and its challenges in the face of the tightening of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, which has been in place for more than 60 years.
For his part, the Liberian diplomat expressed his government's gratitude for the training of Liberian human resources in Cuba and for the work of Cuban medical collaboration in the fight against Ebola when this deadly virus hit the West African country.
The meeting, where affection and respect prevailed between the parties, also served to ratify the interest of the respective governments in maintaining and strengthening bilateral relations despite the prevailing circumstances.
